Treatment for balance/vestibular disorders

Diagnostic tests may include blood tests, a hearing exam, imaging studies, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT/CAT scan), or an electronystagmogram (ENG) to test the vestibular system.

Treatment may include medications, such as antibiotics, dietary or lifestyle restrictions, vestibular retraining therapy, physical rehabilitation, movement maneuvers to remove ear debris, or surgery. Sometimes symptoms resolve without treatment.
